Beta terms

These terms apply to everyone who signs up for the beta of Maqam detection, a program by Faris Mismar. You accept them when you tick “I agree to the beta terms”.

1. Evaluation only

   The program is offered for evaluation during this beta. You may use it only to try it and to judge how well it detects the maqam.

2. No reverse engineering, scraping or automated use

   You will not try to work out how the program works from what it returns, collect its results in bulk, or use it through scripts, bots or any other automated means. You use it through this page, by hand.

3. Use of your answers and recordings

   You allow Faris Mismar to use, without payment, the answers you give (the maqam and the tonic you hear) and the recordings you choose to keep, to evaluate and improve the program. A recording is kept only when you tick “Keep my recording to improve the program” before analyzing it.

4. Your right to upload

   You confirm that you have the right to upload or record everything you analyze here: it is your own performance, or you have permission from whoever holds the rights to it.
